Worked walkthrough: a medium round
You choose Medium. The quiz builds a round of ten questions: five maths, such as “Solve for x: 4x + 7 = 39” (answer 8) or “What is 35% of 240?” (answer 84), and five science questions, such as “Which part of the cell is called its powerhouse?” (mitochondria). You answer each one, see whether you were right and read the explanation. Suppose you finish with 7 correct: the result screen shows 7 out of 10, a breakdown such as 4 of 5 maths and 3 of 5 science, and your best Medium score. Pressing “Play 10 new questions” gives new numbers and five science questions you have not seen yet.
Practical tips for math & science quiz calculations
- Start on Easy to warm up, then move to Medium and Hard once you are scoring 8 or more.
- For percentage questions, break the number down: 10% is one tenth, so 35% is 10% × 3 plus 5%.
- In algebra questions, do the same thing to both sides of the equation – subtract first, then divide.
- For science questions, eliminate options you know are wrong before choosing between the last two.
- Read the explanation even when you are right – it often includes a fact or shortcut that helps with the next round.
